Samuel Adegboye is an economist and a Pastor. He was the best student in the education department of the University of Abuja during the 1997 to 1998 academic session. He had worked earlier at the federal ministry of trade and investment, Abuja before retirement. But in his book: Rescue from the jaws of death, Adegboye is not writing economics, a field he knows so well.
Rescue from the jaws of death succinctly captures the near death experiences of this budding writer and the divine grace of a second chance which brought him back to the land of the living.
In this book: Rescue from the Jaws of Death, the author recounts his ordeal and pains while going from one hospital to another. It reflects his gratitude to God for saving his life and also reveals his unflinching faith and trust in God his creator.
The writer speaks on his divine call by God to start a church, His Amazing Grace Global Ministry where the power of God is made manifest.
This book will bring tears to your eyes and encouragement to those who may be going through similar challenges of life and who may have their backs turned to the wall in the erroneous thought that God has forsaken them.
Inspirational quotes are a prominent part of this book. The aim is to give hope to the reader that in all things, if you look on the sunny side of life, especially with your eyes focussed on the power of God to deliver, you will have respite.
The story of the reader is no doubt that of a man who has worked hard to make good his better and his better best. It is the story of a man who climbs the mountain to see sunshine on the upward beyond.
Pastor Sam Adegboye was involved in a ghastly accident on August 13, 2006 which got him paralysed due to a spinal cord injury. This book captures textually and pictorially, the account of his experiences as he moved from one orthopaedic hospital to another in search of medical help and how the unseen hand of God touched him on every step of the way.
The 90 page book is written in five chapters. The foreword is written by Amb. Olutola Onijala who aptly recommends the book to the reading public with these word, “this book is a must-read for all who may be going through one travail or the other. We can also draw a lesson from Pastor Sam’s book that in all aspects of life, we should look at what we have left and not what we have lost”.
Chapters one and two speaks on his encounter with the saving grace of God when he got involved in a ghastly car accident on his way back to Abuja from Lagos where he had attended a national convention. Chapters’ three to five speaks on how he re-dedicated his life to the service of God. Chapter five specifically stresses the need to forge ahead in spite of whatever challenge life poses. Be resilient always.
The writer of this book has conveyed a strong message that even in your travails, do not quit.
